Metropolitan Planning Council
2019 MPC Annual Luncheon
The annual Metropolitan Planning Council Luncheon gathers 1,000 civic and corporate leaders together in support of MPC’s effective efforts to ensure that the Chicago metropolitan area continues to unlock its potential as an exceptional place to live and work.
The keynote, Raj Chetty, Professor of Economics, Harvard University, is one of the youngest tenured professors in Harvard’s history and a former MacArthur “Genius” Fellow. His work on topics ranging from tax policy to unemployment and education to affordable housing has been regularly featured in media publications such as the Wall Street Journal, academia and Congressional testimony.
MPC will honor John W. Rowe, Chairman Emeritus, Exelon Corporation, with the 2019 Champion Fighter Award for his extraordinary civic leadership.
For over 80 years, the Metropolitan Planning Council (MPC) has made the Chicago region a better place to live and work by partnering with businesses, communities and governments to address the area’s toughest planning and development challenges.
