About Ingenuity
Ingenuity was founded in 2011 to increase arts education access, quality and equity in Chicago Public Schools (CPS) in direct response to decades of arts divestment. For 16 years, Ingenuity has helped drive unprecedented progress by advocating for strong policies and investing directly in CPS schools to bolster arts education and programming for the benefit of our youth. Using data as a springboard, Ingenuity creates and designs learning programs and services to help community arts partners and teachers more effectively and equitably align their unique arts education pedagogy, practices, and programs with CPS District priorities to propel high-quality work in schools. Today, Ingenuity’s work to transform arts education and strengthen partnerships between schools and organizations has led to 96,000 more CPS students now have access to Excelling schools in the arts.
