Girls have the power to make a difference in the world; and, yet, the world they face is more complicated than ever. With a society that boxes them in instead of building them up, we know there is more work to be done to create a brighter, more equitable future for ALL GIRLS.

Today’s Girl Scouts STAND FOR MORE.

They stand for themselves.

They stand for others.

They stand for the world.

The world needs girls, and Girl Scouts are unleashing their power to create meaningful change. Standing for more isn’t a job for just anyone – it calls for a strong sense of self and a willingness to take risks. Girl Scouts know what it takes to be an unstoppable force on a powerful mission.

Tonight’s 30th annual Tribute to Achievement dinner celebrates the incredible work girls and women have achieved – then and now – to lead and break barriers.

I am honored to recognize this year’s awardees whose voices and actions stand for enduring change.

Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana stands with girls, women, and our community to continue paving the way forward. There’s more work to be done, and we can’t do it halfway.

Thank you for standing with us to create a world that includes and respects girls.
